The members of Harpy met in various nightclubs around the world. Their love of dark alternative culture has given them a taste for Industrial, Aggrotech, Metal and the experimental side of Electronica.
Some of the comments from the audience on the Sound of Harpy...
"Harpy sound like a Heavy Metal NIN" ... "Do I detect the influence of the Birthday Massacre?"... "Total dirty industrial punk!"...
What you hear when you listen to Harpy are confronting female lead vocals, songs of vitriol, catharsis and fantasy, chunky and atmospheric distorted guitars spiralling synths and visceral beats. A common theme runs through the lyrics - defy the world that tries to remold your spirit and identity
Harpy has haunted the Melbourne club scene for a while now, playing event nights such as Transfusion, Heresy, Dark Realm and Enzyme, as well as local clubs and venues. They are currently working on their second EP. Their Debut EP - Trauma - is available online at www.darkstereo.com
Harpy shows are currently on hold while we write our new songs and develop our new sound. We hope to showcase all our new material soon!
